According to Singapore Education, “education has always been key in the growth and development of Singapore society... and has become even more critical in shaping our country's future”. This means that it is crucial that parents choose only the best school for their children by considering some of these factors:
Faculty and Curriculum
There are standard subjects for schools as permitted by the council for Private Education. Take a look at the curriculum guide to see what programmes are offered to students. And since you cannot interview each teacher, check their records and see what their qualifications are, i.e., whether they should have at least a Master’s degree or not.
Facilities
Find out if the school building is approved by the proper authorities and if it meets the standard requirements of the state. Also, there should be amenities that help in the complete development of your child, including a gym, library, science laboratory, and the like.
Every educational facility should have an examinations and academic board that will be responsible in managing and overseeing the academe; programmes, exam processes, course syllabi, research, and more.
Philosophy
A private school should have core principles and methodologies that are the basis for its objectives. Included in this aspect is the vision and mission of the institution, which should be stated clearly in the curriculum guide. It should also clearly explain the standards and expectations for the students.
If you take all these into account when deciding on a school, you will have a better chance of choosing the perfect one.
