About Chinese International School Singapore
CNIS is nestled in a picturesque up-scale residential neighborhood along Bukit Timah Road, with several prestigious local and international schools nearby. Our 5 hectare campus boasts state-of-the-art computer facilities, music and art studios, fully equipped science laboratories, study/discussion rooms, two gymnasiums, indoor Jungle-Gym play area for children, fitness corners, soccer field, squash court, basketball courts, badminton courts, table tennis and cafeteria. Our latest addition is a golf driving range, which were completed in September 2008.
Our new air conditioned dormitories, with 24 hour adult supervision and security staff, cater to boarding students from age 13 of all nationalities. Students can also enjoy campus wide wireless internet access and laundry services. Girls and boys are housed in different levels and supervised by a dorm mistress and master respectively.
Living together under one roof, such environment provides perfect opportunities for our students to interact, learn from and about each other's cultural and social habits and differences. Moreover, CNIS’ highly qualified and experienced educators from the United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, China and other countries, to name but a few, reflect the philosophy of internationalization in the IB Programme. They make the best facilitators to encourage racial harmony and community cohesiveness.
IB Diploma authorization was granted to CNIS in May, 2007. With IB Diploma authorization, CNIS has status as an IB World School. We are working towards IB implementation at all levels, molding our curricula to meet the demands of IB PYP (Primary Years), MYP (Middle Years) and DP (Diploma) Programmes.
Although some students may not be able to meet the rigorous demands of the IB Diploma, students of mixed learning abilities will have many opportunities for success through a CNIS diploma, an IB Certificate, and numerous in-house awards for service and academics.
